I’m excited to introduce the HydroHarvest365 as part of my second grade class this year! Elaborating on plant growth and development in science, we’ll compare and contrast growth in soil vs. growth via hydroponics.  Additionally, through education and fun, my students may also  choose to try new and fresh vegetables they help nourish during the school year! And no last minute trips to the store for my school lunch salad! Easy, fun, and educational!

My son talked me into getting one of these hydroponic systems. I just didn’t think I had time to mess with it.  It is so easy to use.  My vegetables sprouted within days, my herbs took a little longer but they are now growing.  It is so much fun to watch everything grow.  I am looking forward to my first harvest.

We had a big 16′ x 32′ outdoor vegetable garden for over 20 years. After we both retired we converted the garden back to grass for easy maintenance. We don’t miss the work of adding fertilizer, weeding, watering, but we do miss the joy of growing and harvesting. My sister recommended that we try hydroponic gardening, so we set up a HydroHarvest365 in our family room. The HydroHarvest365 looks like a bookcase of greens. It’s a great surprise to us that the Water Spinach and Arugula started sprouting on the 3rd days of seeding. Now we can enjoy watching the vegetable grow in our family room without intensive labor and harvesting greens in the winter. We are truly happy to bring the joy of gardening back to our life.

This HydroHarvest365 has brought back many memories for this former Texas farm boy who used to plant, tend,  and harvest crops.  Now planting and tending is easier in my assisted living apartment. My jade beans, tomatoes, kale, spinach, and other vegetables a sprouted within days.  I harvested my first microgreens for salads and smoothies in about a week’s time.  A great and enjoyable hobby for any age. I’ll be 92 in a short while.

The hydroharvest365 is perfect for teaching kids how plants grow and where food comes from. As a teacher and mom, I love how easy and quick the plants pop up. It really keeps the kids interested and engaged. In the classroom it is so great for teaching science, nutrition and math skills and so much more. The best part is creating delicious meals or snacks with the fresh produce.
